HANOVER, N.H. – Adrienne Shibles, the Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 and Family Head Coach of Women's Basketball, has had an exciting week.
Just days after being named an inductee into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame, it was announced that she was also being inducted in the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame.
Shibles – who is in her first year as a Division I head coach after being the winningest coach in Bowdoin women's basketball history – is one of 14 members being named to the Basketball Hall of Fame as members of the Class of 2022.
She is being recognized alongside Kim Condon Lane, Lauree Gott, Mark Karter, Steve LeVasseur, Rick McAvoy, Neile Joler Nelson, Crystal Pazdziorko, Jim Ray, Sharon Siebert, Ken Stone, Jeff Sturgeon, Julie Treadwell and Lee Williams.
While at Bowdoin, Shibles guided the Polar Bears to a 281-65 (.805) record over 13 seasons, two New England Small College Athletic Conference championships, 11 NCAA Tournament appearances and back-to-back Division III title game appearances. She was named the 2019 WBCA Division III Coach of the Year.
This month, the Big Green had big wins over Brown and Cornell in Ivy League action, the latter coming over the weekend in overtime.
The ceremony will take place on Sunday, Aug. 28 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
