HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth men's tennis had a 4-2 win over St. John's on Saturday.
"This was another good test for this group today," Xander Centennari '13, the John Kenfield and
Chuck Kinyon Head Coach of Men's Tennis, said. "I thought we played well in doubles with good wins from our top two teams. Credit to St. Johns for a good response - we were tested by losing five of six first sets. This team is proving to be pretty tough and we were not shaken. Lot's of guys pushed their match to third sets in spite of a few momentum swings and even going down a set and a break on court three. With great energy and support, we were able to compete and come through deep in third sets, and were leading on the match that was suspended. Great team effort tonight."

Dartmouth (5-3) vs. St. John's (7-2)
Big Green victories at the No. 2 and 1 doubles put the home team up by one.
Alex Knox-Jones and
Pierce Widdecombe had a 6-2 win on court two to start things off, which was followed by a 6-4 victory by
Anders Gibbons and
Dominik Pauli at the No. 1 spot.
Â
Red Storm wins at the No. 4 and 5 singles allowed the visitors to move ahead, 2-1. Those were the last points Dartmouth allowed, however, as it went on to win three straight singles matches. Pauli tied the score at two-all with his three-setter at the No. 2 position, Knox-Jones was the go-ahead at No. 3 and
Andy Ilie clinched at the No. 6 spot. This was a very close one, as only two of the six singles matches didn't go to three sets.
Â
Dartmouth will host Bucknell and Boston University on Saturday, March 5, before heading out for eight road matches in a row.
