Harrison Markell Signs with Worcester Railers of the ECHL

Markell signs his first professional contract.
HANOVER, N.H. — The Worcester Railers of the ECHL announced Monday that they have signed Dartmouth men's hockey captain Harrison Markell to his first professional contract.

Markell, the 121st captain in program history, played in 90 games over the course of his career, finishing with four goals and 14 assists for 18 points.
Â
Donning the "C" this past season, the defenseman played in all 32 games, scoring twice with eight assists while leading the team in blocked shots with 50.

Markell was a candidate for the 2021-22 Senior CLASS Award, a nominee for the ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year Award, and picked up Academic All-Ivy League honors.

In addition, Markell was named an AHCA All-American Scholar in 2019-20 and has earned ECAC Hockey All-Academic recognition on three occasions.
