Dartmouth (4-4, 0-2) vs. No. 7 Cornell (8-1, 2-1)
Rogan opened scoring 37 seconds into the first quarter and, after Cornell evened the score a few minutes later, tallies by Prince (2) and
Matt Paul over a two-minute span gave the Big Green a three-goal cushion. Two in a row for the Big Red got the visitors within one, and the teams played out the final 3:30 like that (4-3).
All was quiet for the first few minutes of the second quarter, minus a couple of penalties and some physicality from both sides. Cornell scored its third straight to tie the score at four-all, while Rogan netted his second goal 55 seconds later to put the home team up. Another 55 seconds after that, the score was tied once more with 9:55 remaining. Hincks was huge in the final few minutes, making save after save, including one right on the doorstep to keep the game locked at 5-5.
After 24 minutes of scoreless play, the Big Red broke the tie to move ahead for the first time all game. A last-second Cornell tally was waved off and Dartmouth headed to the fourth down by one (6-5).
Another goal for the Big Red less than four minutes into the fourth quarter gave them a two-goal lead, but Rogan's third of the game followed by
Peter Lapina's fifth of the season meant we were tied at seven with 6:23 left. Three minutes later, Cornell scored the game winner and held on until the final whistle.
Dartmouth will host Stony Brook on Tuesday afternoon, playing its final non-conference contest of the 2022 season.
