HANOVER, N.H. — Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 and Family Head Coach of Women's Basketball
Adrienne Shibles was inducted into the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame Sunday in recognition of her significant impact on the sport. Shibles, who enters her second year at the Big Green's helm, is the all-time winningest coach at Division III Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.
During her 13 seasons with the Polar Bears, Shibles posted a 281-65 record and claimed a pair of conference championships, along with 11 NCAA Tournament bids. In 2019, Shibles was named WBCA Coach of the Year following a 31-2 campaign that saw Bowdoin reach the national title for a second consecutive season.
"It was an enormous honor to be inducted into just the eighth class of the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame on the year commemorating the 50th anniversary of Title IX," Shibles said. "I certainly benefitted from the legislation, so the timing was special. It was also incredibly meaningful to have my family, former student-athletes and Dartmouth colleagues in attendance. No one earns an honor like this alone. I credit my husband, my daughters and the amazing people I have battled alongside for any success I have enjoyed."
Shibles, one of 14 inductees, was joined by former Saint Joseph's College of Maine star Neile Joler Nelson – mother of current Dartmouth women's basketball freshman
Anna Nelson.
