BIG GREEN BATTLE PRESEASON FAVORITE
Princeton was the first-ever Ivy League team to earn a spot in the AP Preseason Poll (24th) and though the Tigers have seen their lengthy conference win streak snapped, they're still one of the Ancient Eight's premier squads. Dartmouth looks for its first win over Princeton since March 4, 2017.
LAST TIME OUT
A slow start plagued Dartmouth in a 68-52 loss to a short-handed Harvard team on Monday night. Playing without Ivy leading scorer Harmoni Turner, the Crimson still managed to shoot better than 50 percent from the field and roll to an 18-point halftime lead.
BOYD EMERGING
Mekkena Boyd's last two outings have been the best perimeter shooting performances of her career. She had never made three or more from deep at a 50 percent clip until going 3-of-5 at Penn. The junior followed it up with a 4-of-6 showing against Harvard.
3-POINTERS AGAINST PENN
Dartmouth hit double-digit 3-pointers for a second time this season, going 12-of-26 from downtown at Penn. It was the most in a single game for Dartmouth since Jan. 11, 2020 (13 vs. Harvard), and the most allowed by Penn this season. The Big Green's 61.1 percent performance from beyond the arc (11-of-18) against Vermont still stands as the most efficient perimeter shooting performance by any Ivy League team this season and 18th-best across the country (min. 10 attempts). The second-best in the Ancient Eight this season? Harvard's 9-of-16 showing against Dartmouth on Monday night.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
Princeton comes to Hanover with a 12-5 record and a 3-2 mark in the Ivy League. A 67-59 loss to Harvard in New Year's Eve's Ivy opener marked the end of a 42-game conference win streak. The Tigers suffered another loss to Columbia, who has also garnered the attention of AP voters, but rebounded with four straight wins (Cornell, Hartford, Brown and Penn). Defense has been the key to success for Princeton this season, ranking 27th in the nation in points allowed per game at 56.0. Kaitlyn Chen, Julia Cunningham and Grace Stone each average double-figures to lead a balanced offensive contingent.
WE BACK PAT
Dartmouth honors Pat Summitt, one of college basketball's greatest legends, Saturday night with the We Back Pat initiative focused on bring awareness and recognition to the Pat Summitt Foundation. The SEC is currently holding its 11th annual We Back Pat Week and many other programs across the country are following suit. The foundation was started in November of 2011 following Summitt's diagnosis of early onset dementia at age 59. Click
