HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's tennis team downed Binghamton and Siena to stay unbeaten Sunday at Alexis Boss Tennis Center. Coming off two season-opening wins over Navy, the Big Green hiked their record to 4-0 on the young 2023 campaign.

Dartmouth defeated Binghamton by a score of 4-2 in the first match of an action-packed day before roaring to a 4-0 win over Siena in the nightcap. Siena downed Binghamton between the two Dartmouth matches.

"Our guys were up to the challenge of playing two matches in a day," said
Xander Centenari, the John Kenfield and Chuck Kinyon Head Coach. "We're getting plenty of valuable match experience early for this young team. We played better doubles today and captured momentum early in singles in both matches. I'm looking forward to the week of practice ahead and building on these team wins."

The performances of
Waleed Qadir and
Miles Groom at the No. 1 position and
Hikaru Takeda and
Carlos Guerrero Alvarez on the third court allowed Dartmouth to quickly earn the doubles point.
Henry Ren and
Alex Knox-Jones led their Binghamton counterparts when Dartmouth's 6-2 victory at No. 3 sealed the early advantage.

Guerrero Alvarez was dominant on the top court with a pair of 6-1 wins to extend the Big Green's edge. Binghamton battled back with a victory at the No. 6 position, but triumphs from Ren and Takeda at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively clinched a 4-2 decision in Dartmouth's favor.

For a third straight match, the doubles point belonged to Dartmouth. Guerrero Alvarez and Takeda made quick work at the No. 3 position with a 6-1 victory and the freshman duo of Qadir and Groom clinched the point on the top court, rolling to a 6-3 win.

The Big Green rolled their momentum into singles as wins from Qadir, Takeda and Knox-Jones delivered a 4-0 margin to seal the sweep.
