HAMILTON, N.Y. — The Dartmouth women's hockey team battled the Colgate Raiders on the road Friday night. The Big Green were unable to overcome No. 5 Colgate, as the Raiders picked up a 7-0 win in ECAC Hockey conference play at Class of 1965 Arena.
After a close and competitive first period, the Raiders scored seven unanswered goals to defeat the visiting Big Green.
The first period between the Big Green and Raiders was played at a furious pace, with both clubs exchanging strong chances. The puck traveled up and down the ice freely, as the teams combined for 25 shots on goal in just 20 minutes of play.

Maggie Emerson stopped all 14 shots she faced, while Hannah Murphy turned 11 Big Green shots aside for the Raiders. The faceoff battle saw the teams split the draws, with
Lauren Messier winning four faceoffs in the opening frame.
Dartmouth continued to put shots on net and generate chances in the second period. Despite this, Colgate opened the scoring near the halfway mark of the frame.
Maggie MacEachern found the back of the net for the Raiders with 12:52 remaining in the second. MacEachern put one past Emerson on an unassisted play to give Colgate a 1-0 lead.
The Raiders extended their lead with 6:34 left in the period, as Danielle Serdachny scored her team-leading 17
th goal of the season. Colgate cashed in on its first power play of the evening to double the Big Green deficit.
The Big Green fell behind by another goal just 1:12 later, as Elyssa Biederman ripped a puck over Emerson's should to give Colgate a 3-0 lead. Dartmouth was unable to respond for the remainder of the period, as the Raiders took a three-goal lead into the third.
Colgate tacked on a fourth goal near the midway mark of the final period. A pass from Biederman behind the net reached the stick of Dana Greig, who buried a shot to extend the Raider lead to 4-0. Greig struck again just two minutes and 34 seconds later to hand Dartmouth a five-goal deficit. Emerson made a brilliant save, but could not corral a rebound, which Greig cashed in.
Elle Sullivan entered the game with 7:01 remaining in the third period. The freshman stopped seven shots for the Big Green in the final moments of the contest.
Kristýna Kaltounková scored twice in 26 seconds to increase Colgate's lead to seven. Regulation expired, as Colgate claimed a 7-0 win over Dartmouth and the season series sweep.
Dartmouth fell to 6-16-0 with a 2-13-0 ECAC Hockey conference record, while Colgate improved to 21-4-1 and 11-3-0 in conference games.
The Big Green take the ice tomorrow against No. 10 Cornell at 3 p.m. The contest, set to take place in Ithaca, New York, will be streamed on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet internationally.
