HANOVER, N.H. – The Ivy League announced its men's soccer All-Ivy and major awards on Wednesday afternoon, and six student-athletes from Dartmouth were among the honorees.
First-years
Trenton Blake and
Vasilis Moiras were named to the second team after excellent rookie campaigns for the Big Green. Senior
Tom Collins, junior
Kristian Feed and sophomore
Sebastián Mañón earned honorable mention nods. Additionally, junior
Andrew Ellis was recognized as Academic All-Ivy.
Blake started 13 of 15 games in his first year with Dartmouth. He finished second on the team in points with eight after finishing with two goals and four assists. Blake assisted the equalizer against Princeton, a game the Big Green went on to win, 2-1, in the Ivy opener. He scored one goal and assisted another in the 2-2 draw against Harvard in the season finale.
Moiras led the Big Green in goals (6) and points (14) this season. He also finished tied for fifth in goals in the Ivy League and sixth in points per game (1.08). Moiras tallied a goal in three-straight games at one point in the year, scoring against Stonehill, Penn and Bryant. He also scored one goal and assisted one in the season finale against Harvard. In mid-October, Moiras was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Freshmen Top 100, coming in at No. 27.
Collins, one of the captains of the Big Green, started 12 of the 13 games he played in. He registered three assists, including one for the game-winner in the 3-1 victory over Holy Cross on Sept. 9. Collins logged more than 1,000 minutes in the middle of the pitch for Dartmouth this season.
Feed finished with one goal and three assists for the Big Green. He recorded an assist in three-straight games in the middle of the season and played a key role in the 2-0 victory over Ivy League regular season champion Penn, having scored one goal and assisting the other. For his performance in that win, Feed was named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week.
Mañón was one of just two players to start all 15 matches for Dartmouth this season and played the most minutes among all field players with 1283. He helped the Big Green capture one clean sheet while also finishing with one assist, coming in the contest against Merrimack.
Ellis, a captain for the Big Green, earns the Academic All-Ivy nod for his performance on the field and in the classroom. A computer science major, Ellis finished with one goal and one assist, scoring the game-tying goal in the 3-1 win over Stonehill.
