HANOVER, N.H. — The USA Women's Sevens rugby team, which features Dartmouth's
Ariana Ramsey, qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics on Friday and the Big Green co-captain, a three-time NIRA divisional champion, will once again don the red, white and blue on the world's largest stage.
The qualification came on the first day of the Hong Kong Sevens Series, which also saw Ramsey score her first World Series try. The USA defeated Spain and Japan on Friday and will soon take on fellow Olympic qualifier France. New Zealand and Australia have also clinched a spot in the 2024 games.
Ramsey became the first player in Dartmouth women's rugby program history to represent her country at the Olympics when she participated in the 2020 Tokyo games. As a collegiate star, the Philadelphia native recently led the Big Green with 11 tries in just five matches, including two in the championship victory over Harvard, to lead Dartmouth to its second of back-to-back NIRA titles.
