Big Green Earn Both Cups in Triumphant Ivy 7s Championship

Both Dartmouth teams downed Harvard in their respective finals
HANOVER, N.H. — With two sides in action, the Dartmouth women's rugby team was undefeated during a successful Ivy 7s Championship, which gave both cups to the Big Green on Saturday at Brophy Field.
On the A side, the Big Green were 3-0 in pool play before Ariana Ramsey's hat trick pushed the Big Green past Harvard in the final. Dartmouth's B side, after going 2-0 in pool play, blanked Yale in a 38-0 semifinal victory before trouncing the Crimson, 41-5, for the cup.
Harvard had the edge at halftime in varsity cup final - the nightcap to an action-packed day that featured more than 50 matches. Ramsey's try, her third of the championship tilt, broke a 17-17 tie midway through the second half and the Crimson couldn't recover in the final minutes of the 24-17 decision. The soon-to-be two-time Olympian would finish the day with nine total tries.
The B team was dominant start-to-finish in their championship win over Harvard, sending six different players to the try zone. Allie Amerson scored twice in both the semifinal and the final.
The Big Green wrap up the 7s season with a trip to Houston for the USA Rugby Collegiate 7s Nationals, which begin Friday, May 5.
