HANOVER, N.H. — The Big Green staked its claim as one of the elite sailing programs in the nation on Monday on the final day of the Intercollegiate Sailing Association Open Team Race National Championship regatta. Dartmouth sailed to a fourth-place finish in Kings Point, New York, securing its best finish at the event since 2019.
Dartmouth closed the round of eight with a 4-3 record, securing wins over No. 1 Stanford, No. 3 Yale, No. 4 Roger Williams and No. 7 Coast Guard. The Big Green edged past four teams finished the first two rounds with records of 14-8, but Dartmouth's performances against Brown and Roger Williams propelled the team into the top four.
Time restraints halted the final four round-robin, leading to a tie-breaking race between Dartmouth and Yale to decide who took home third place. The Big Green were narrowly edged out by the Bulldogs, closing the event in fourth.

Maddie Hughes lifted the Big Green to its best finish at this event in four years. Dartmouth also secured only its third top-four finish since 2004.
