HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth sailing team closed the 2022-23 season with the final day of the ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship in Kings Point, New York. The Big Green finished the championship regatta in fifth place, while five Dartmouth student-athletes earned All-American recognition following the event.
Boyd Bragg and
Yumi Yoshiyasu closed out the season with a fifth-place finish in the "A" division, closing out a stellar season. Bragg was named an All-American skipper and was selected as a finalist for the ICSA's Sailor of the Year award. Yoshiyasu was honored as an All-American crew, capping off an impressive campaign for the Big Green.
Maddie Hawkins and
Aisling Sullivan competed in a razor close "B" division, closing the regatta in seventh place. The pair closed the event just four points outside of a fourth-place finish. Both members of Dartmouth's "B" team earned postseason honors, as Hawkins was named an All-American skipper and Sullivan earned All-American crew recognition.
Will Michels was honored by the ICSA as an All-American honorable mention.
Due to low wind conditions, only three races in each division were conducted at Kings Point on Friday. Stanford claimed the national title, while three Ivy League teams, Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, and Brown, finished in the top six.
