HANOVER, N.H. — The Ivy League unveiled the 2023 men's soccer preseason poll prior to the first games of the year this weekend. Dartmouth was selected to finish sixth, as announced by the league office on Thursday.
Penn was selected to repeat as Ivy League champion following a stellar 2022 season, earning nine of 16 first-place votes and 119 points. Cornell received six first-place votes, finishing second in the poll, while Harvard earned the final first-place nod and the third spot.
Yale was picked to finish fourth, followed by Princeton, Dartmouth, Brown and Columbia.
This season introduces the Ivy League men's soccer tournament, which is set to take place from Nov. 10-12. The top four teams in the standings will battle for the Ivy League's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Last season, Dartmouth finished fourth in the standings.
Dartmouth kicks off the 2023 season in California with a pair of non-conference games. The Big Green take on Saint Mary's on Friday, Sept. 1 before taking on Cal on Monday, Sept. 4. The Ivy League slate begins for Dartmouth on Saturday, Sept. 23 at Princeton.
