HANOVER, N.H. – Sophomore defender
Sam Fenton of the Dartmouth men's soccer team was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Fenton played the full 90 minutes in both matches for the Big Green this week. He played a key role on the defensive side of the ball as Dartmouth defeated Princeton, 2-1, on Saturday in the league opener. Fenton also tallied the game-winning goal in the 69
th minute to complete the comeback, giving the Big Green their first road win since Sept. 4, 2022.
This is the first weekly award winner for Dartmouth this year.
Fenton and the Big Green return to Burnham Field Saturday for an Ivy League matchup against Penn for the annual Pride Game. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be available to stream nationally on ESPN+ and internationally on Stretch Internet.
