PRINCETON, N.J.– Ava Roberts and
Maddie LaFata had 10 kills as the Dartmouth women's volleyball team dropped an away match at Princeton, 3-1 on Saturday evening from Dillion Gymnasium.

The team combined for 10 aces, a season high for the Big Green. The aces brought the team's season total to 100 aces.

The Big Green fall to 9-6 (2-3 Ivy League) and Princeton falls to 6-9 (3-3 Ivy League).Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:
SET ONE:
- Princeton took a quick 11-6 lead, but Dartmouth went on a 5-0 run to even the score off two kills from Piper Stevens and an ace from Karen Murphy.
- The remainder of the set was evenly matched with 12 ties. Princeton was able to break away for the 25-23 victory.
SET TWO:
- The Big Green came out hot, jumping to an 11-3 lead and forcing a Princeton timeout.
- The Tigers then inched back into the game on a 14-5 run to take a 17-16 lead now forcing a Dartmouth timeout. Â
- Three errors by the Tigers tied the match at 23 but Princeton was able to take the set 25-23.
SET THREE:
- Princeton opened the set with a slight lead over Dartmouth, 9-8.
- The Big Green went on a commanding 11-3 run to take a 19-12 lead thanks to four kills and two aces.
- Dartmouth charged on and scored the final four points of the set to win it 25-16.
SET FOUR:
- The Tigers went ahead 10-3 early in the set and did not look back.
- Faced with match point, LaFata had a kill and Murphy had an ace, but it was not enough to hold Princeton, 25-17 Tigers.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Roberts and LaFata both recorded 10 kills.
- Stevens notched 14 digs for the Big Green.
- Kauany Gutz had a season high four aces, tying her career best.
