BIG GREEN TO FACE TWO NATIONALLY RANKED OPPONENTS
The Big Green will travel to North Country this weekend to close their regular season facing ECAC Hockey opponents Clarkson and St. Lawrence. Despite going winless last weekend, the Big Green will look to emulate their play against Brown when they battle two nationally ranked opponents.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, the Big Green returned home after five straight road games to host the Yale Bulldogs and Brown Bears. On Friday night against Yale, the Big Green fell behind early, trailing 3-0 after the first period. The Big Green kept the Bulldogs off the scoreboard for the second and most of the third period but were unable to find the back of the net, falling 4-0.
On Saturday, the Big Green surrendered the first goal again, but this time were able to respond when
Cally Dixon tipped an
Annie King shot from the point to tie the game. The Bears then scored two straight, hoping to put the game away but the Big Green continued to battle as both
Laura Fuoco and
Tiffany Hill found themselves open in front of the net to bury the puck and tie the game at three goals apiece. Both teams were unable to find the back of the net in the five-minute overtime period, earning the tie and each coming away with a point and a half in the ECAC Hockey standings.
SCOUTING CLARKSON
The Clarkson Golden Knights enter their matchup with the Big Green at 27-3-2 and 16-3-1 in ECAC Hockey action following a weekend sweep of Princeton and Quinnipiac. The No. 3 Golden Knights also sit atop the ECAC Hockey Standings and have clinched a first round playoff bye, currently sitting at second place.
Nicole Gosling has played in all 32 games for the Golden Knights, leading the team in assists (18) and points (30). Gosling is part of a five-way tie for most goals on the team with 12, sitting alongside Darcie Lappan, Anne Cherkowski, Brooke McQuigge, and Sena Catterall.
Michelle Pasiechnyk has started 25 games in net for the Golden Knights this season, posting a 1.28 goals against average and a .942 save percentage. Pasiechnyk also leads the nation and conference in shutouts with seven so far this season.
SCOUTING ST. LAWRENCE
The Saints enter the final weekend of the regular season at 23-9-0 and 16-4-0 against ECAC Hockey opponents. No. 7 St. Lawrence also swept their weekend series on the road at Quinnipiac and Princeton, and like the Golden Knights, secured an overtime victory over the Bobcats.
Abby Hustler has played in all 32 games for the Saints this season and leads the team in goals (23) and points (49). Hustler and Mae Batherson are tied for second on the team with 26 assists, sitting only behind Julia Gosling who has 28 assists and 45 points in 30 games this season. Gosling and teammate Anna Segedi lead ECAC Hockey with six game winning goals each, while also ranking third in the nation.
Emma-Sofie Nordstrom has started all but one game for the Saints in net this year and has a 2.11 goals against average and a .926 save percentage. The Big Green were able to score five goals on Nordstrom earlier in the season, the second most goals she has allowed all season. While the Big Green's comeback fell short, they will hope to get out to a quick start and build off their early season performance.
CONTINUED IMPORTANCE OF SPECIAL TEAMS
The Big Green carried their momentum on special teams through last weekend against Yale and Brown. Despite the loss on Friday, the Big Green killed all three penalties they took. On Saturday, they stayed out of the box until the overtime period and stopped the Bears from scoring on the four-on-three advantage. St. Lawrence has scored over 35 power play goals this season with Hustler accounting for 12. It is important for the Big Green to continue to trend positively on special teams play, especially heading into the playoffs.

Both games this weekend will be streamed nationally on ESPN+, internationally on Stretch Internet, and can be followed via live stats on our website. The Big Green's matchup Friday at Clarkson has a scheduled 6 p.m. start and Saturday's battle with St. Lawrence is scheduled for a 3 p.m. puck drop.
WHAT'S NEXT?

Final seeding within the top four, five through eight, and nine through 12 are still yet to be determined. More information on who the Big Green will face on the road in the opening round will be available next week following the conclusion of this weekend's games and confirmation from the conference.
