GAME 23
Dartmouth (7-15, 1-9 Ivy League) vs. Yale (6-17, 3-7 Ivy League)
Date and Time: Saturday, Feb. 24 | 1 p.m.
Location and Venue: Hanover, N.H. | Leede Arena
All-Time Series: 53-37
Last Meeting: Jan. 20, 2024 (L, 48-46)
FIRST IVY WIN
The last time the Big Green were in action inside Leede Arena, it was a memorable Saturday as Dartmouth picked up its first Ivy League victory since Feb. 18, 2022, and also the first Ivy League win for first-year Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 and Family Head Coach
Linda Cimino. The 48-44 triumph avenged a 61-47 road loss to the Big Red from two weeks prior and came despite a scoreless second quarter. The Big Green went on to outscore Cornell 18-9 in the fourth to seal the come-from-behind victory after trailing by 10 at halftime.
MORE FROM MEYER
In the win over Cornell,
Clare Meyer earned her second double-double in the last three games. Her career-best 24-point performance against Harvard was good for her first career double-double, and she was at it again against the Big Red with team highs in scoring (14) and rebounding (11). It was the fifth double-double of the season for Dartmouth, which had no double-doubles during the 2022-23 season.
ANTICIPATED REMATCH
Dartmouth and Yale meet again after January's 48-46 nailbiter in New Haven. The Big Green led by multiple possessions midway through the fourth quarter, but succumbed to a few clutch 3-pointers from the Bulldogs, who pulled out the first of their three Ivy League victories.
SENIOR DAY
Prior to the game, Dartmouth will honor its five seniors:
Mekkena Boyd,
Mia Curtis,
Camryn Foltz,
Carrington Washburn and
Leiya Stuart.
SCOUTING YALE
Yale's two-game Ivy League win streak, which included road victories over Penn and Cornell, was spoiled by a winless home weekend at the hands of Penn and No. 24 Princeton. Star point guard Jenna Clark was instrumental in the two-game win streak as the team's leading scorer in both contests, including her 25-point effort in an overtime thriller against Penn. Clark leads the Ivy League and ranks among the top 15 nationally in assists per game (5.8). Yale ranks third in the Ivy League in offensive rebounds per game (12.5) and steals per game (7.8).
FEWEST FOULS
The Big Green still commit the fewest fouls per game in the nation (10.8) and allowed Cornell just four free throw attempts last Saturday. Dartmouth opponents have attempted fewer than five free throws in six different games this season.
ROAD STRETCH CLOSES THE SEASON
Dartmouth hits the road to visit Penn and Princeton next weekend before closing the season at Harvard (rescheduled to Tuesday, March 5 at 8 p.m.).
