LOS ANGELES, Calif. --Though they had plenty of opportunities, Dartmouth had a hard time cashing them in, leaving 10 Big Green on base in a 28-4 defeat at the hands of the Loyola Marymount Lions on Friday.

With the loss, the Big Green move to 1-7 while the Lions are now 10-8.

The Big Green got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Taer Rodriguez doubled and came home on an RBI single from Nathan Cmeyla.

Despite taking the early lead, the Lions quickly erased the Big Green's lead in the second inning, plating six runs to take a 6-1 lead. They continued to add to insurance runs, leading 18-1 before the Big Green were able to get back on the board when Elliot Krewson knocked a two-out RBI double to score Jackson Hower.

Krewson would continue his offensive production in the sixth inning, when his RBI single scored Ethan Brown. While the Big Green added a fourth run, the Lions continued to swing the bat, defeating the Big Green 28-4.

Clark Gilmore started on the mound for the Big Green, pitching 2.2 innings. Jeff Lee, Joseph Chambers, Brady Chappel, and Aidan Plummer combined for the remaining innings on the mound.

The Big Green will look to positively respond tomorrow when they face the LMU Lions for the third straight day. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
