HANOVER, N.H. - The Big Green came from behind in both games of the doubleheader against Brown, cruising to 5-3 and 6-2 victories over the Bears to sweep the day and secure a series victory.
With the wins, the Big Green move to 9-16 overall and 4-7 in Ivy League play and will look to win their third straight game and sweep the series tomorrow.
GAME 1 | Dartmouth 5, Brown 3
The Bears opened a 2-0 lead in the second inning and maintained that lead into the fourth inning. Kolton Freeman led off the inning and cut the Bears' lead to one, knocking a home run to get the Big Green on the board. Dartmouth turned around and took the lead in the fifth inning when the Big Green scored three runs. The inning was highlighted by a two-run Tyler Robinson triple that gave the Big Green the lead. They extended their lead when Elliot Krewson reached on an error and Robinson came home to score, putting the Big Green up 4-2 through five innings.
Brown got within one run in the sixth inning, but Nathan Cmeyla added an insurance run for the Big Green in the eighth, hitting Dartmouth's second homerun of the day and extending its lead to 5-3.
Mac Burke made his first start of the season and pitched 4.1 innings, allowing only two runs on six hits. Shane Baure allowed one run on one hit in his one inning of relief work.
Danny Will collected the win, moving to 3-0 on the season for his 2.1 innings of one hit relief work. Jack Metzger continued his strong performance out of the bullpen, collecting his fifth save of the season.

In Game 2, the Bears started similarly to how they started Game 1, opening a one run lead in the first inning. The Big Green once again found offensive power in the come from behind victory, defeating the Bears, 6-2.
The Big Green tied the game in the third inning when Taer Rodriguez hit the Big Green's third homerun of the day, and his first of the season. They took the lead only a few batters later when Cmeyla took a bases loaded walk to score Camden Rush.
Dartmouth continued scoring in the next inning, extending their lead to three in the fourth inning. Robinson collected an RBI single and Krewson scored two runs on his single, giving the Big Green a 5-1 lead.
In the sixth inning, Freeman was hit by the pitch with the bases loaded to extend the Big Green's lead to four, and despite a solo home run by the Bears in the eighth inning, they were unable to generate momentum as the Big Green cruised to a 6-2 victory.
Marco Dumsky pitched 4.2 innings as the starter for Dartmouth allowing only one run on four hits with five strikeouts and four walks. Tyler Cortland got the win for his 1.2 innings of scoreless relief work. Drew Koenen pitched the final 1.2 innings to secure the win for the Big Green.
