HANOVER, N.H. – On Thursday, the Ivy League announced their baseball All-Ivy teams and major award winners, honoring
Nathan Cmeyla,
Tyler Robinson, and
Shane Bauer of the Big Green. Cmeyla and Robinson were named Honorable Mentions while Bauer was named to the Academic All-Ivy Team.
Cmeyla who leads the Big Green in multiple offensive categories, started and played in all but two games this season. His .350 batting average, .594 slugging percentage, 12 doubles, 85 total bases and 30 RBI put him atop the Big Green. Defensively, Cmeyla also had a positive impact, setting up behind the plate, blocking balls in the dirt, and posting a .967 fielding percentage.
Robinson, who missed 14 games due to injury still made a positive impact both offensively and defensively for the Big Green, being known for his speed both in the outfield and on the base paths. The senior ranked second on the team, behind only Cmeyla, with a .337 batting average, a .547 slugging percentage, and nine doubles. Robinson led the Big Green with a .429 on base percentage and four triples, a statistic that also ranks him first in the Ivy League.
Bauer, who will be returning to the Big Green for his fifth year, was named to the Academic All-Ivy team. The biomedical engineering major made 13 relief appearances this season, posting a 1-1 record in 20.1 innings pitched. Bauer gave up only 23 hits, 16 walks, and fanned 10 batters. He started the year hot, combining for 4.1 innings of one hit ball in two appearances at North Florida and LMU, scattering four walks and striking out three. Bauer's best Ivy League outing came at Harvard where he threw 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up only one hit.
The Big Green wrapped up the 2024 season last week when they hosted Maine, coming from behind for a dominant 18-11 victory to end their season on a high and bring positive momentum into preparation for next year's season.
