Kauany Gutz had a standout double double (30 kills, 17 digs) as the Dartmouth College volleyball team defeated Northeastern 3-2 in their final match of the Northeastern Tournament from the Cabot Center on Sunday afternoon. Gutz and
Piper Stevens were named to the All-Tournament Team for their play throughout the weekend.

Karen Murphy also had a double double notching 33 assists and 17 digs, both career highs. Gutz's 30 kills and 17 digs were also career highs for the junior.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
SET ONE:
- The match began even with teams trading points until the score was tied 5-5. Dartmouth then scored three in a row to open an 8-5 lead.
- Four consecutive points put the Big Green ahead 16-10 and forced a Northeastern timeout. Out of the timeout, Northeastern came out hot and closed the gap to 16-15. Â
- A kill by Gutz and two from Maddie LaFata sealed the deal for the Big Green in the first set, 25-22.
SET TWO:
- Northeastern opened a quick 7-3 lead with five unanswered points from the Huskies.
- A 5-1 run by the Big Green tied the set at 9-9.
- The rest of the set saw eight ties until a 6-1 run gave the Huskies the set, 25-23.
SET THREE:
- After three opening scores for Dartmouth, Northeastern scored six unanswered taking a 6-3 lead.
- The set proved to be even throughout, with Northeastern holding the advantage.
- A 5-2 run by Dartmouth, including three kills from Gutz, evened the game at 22-22.
- Northeastern scored the next three of four points, taking it 25-23.
SET FOUR:
- The set began with four lead changes, but Dartmouth opened a 16-13 lead, the largest of the set so far.
- Dartmouth kept a steady two point lead the remainder of the set.
- The Big Green secured the fourth set 25-19 off four consecutive points, two of which were kills from Gutz.
SET FIVE:
- The final set opened on a rally that lasted 1:25, resulting in a Dartmouth point.
- Five points from Northeastern compared to Dartmouth's two allowed for the Huskies to jump in front 10-7.
- Dartmouth outscored Northeastern 6-1 in the finals points to come away victorious, 15-12.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Gutz led the team with 30 kills, a career high.
- Raeli Smith had three aces for the Big Green.
- Smith and Gutz both had four blocks.
