ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – This past week, members of the men's and women's Nordic ski team travelled to Alaska to compete in the 2025 U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships.

Racing kicked off on Tuesday, January 2 with the 10K individual start.
John Steel Hagenbuch led the way for the men, finishing in first with a time of 21:23.4.
Aaron Power (23:48.7),
Henry Magill (23:52.4), and
Asa Chalmers (24:00.9) also raced in the 10K individual start.

On the women's side, the first Big Green representative to finish was
Ava Thurston, finishing in 26
th with a 26:17.8.
Nina Seemann (26.47.4),
Evie Walton (26:58.1),
Emma Reeder (27:03.1),
Maeve Ingelfinger (27:44.4), and
Tatum Witter (28:06.3) rounded out the Big Green finishers.

In Saturday's Women's Classic Sprint Qualifier, Seeman finished 11
th overall, leading the way for the Big Green with a 3:37.71. Thurston was close behind, finishing in 3:41.49. Ingelfinger (3:47.39), Walton (3:47.90), Reeder (3:49.16), and Witter (3:55.57) also raced in the qualifier.

Hagenbuch came in 17
th in the men's classic sprint qualifier, posting a 3:03.83. Chalmers posted a 3:10.43, closely followed by Power (3:11.34). Magill finished with a 3:19.72 and in his first race of the championship,
Aidan Jacobus posted a 3:24.45.

In the sprint brackets on Saturday, Seemann led the way, finishing sixth in the finals with a time of 3:37.71. Thurston posted a 3:41.59, Walton a 3:47.90, Reeder a 3:49.16, and Witter a 3:55.57.

Hagenbuch once again led the way for the male Dartmouth representatives, finishing in 15
th with a 3:03.38. Chalmers posted a 3:10.43, followed by Power with a 3:11.34.

In the U20 race, Ingelfinger placed fourth overall with a 3:47.39. In the men's race, Magill earned a 3:19.60 and Jacobus posted a 3:24.45.

On Sunday, Hagenbuch earned his second podium finish of the week, finishing second in the 20K Mass start with a 50:58. Chalmers was the next Big Green representative to finish, crossing in just over 50 minutes. Power finished with a 56:21.2 to round out the Dartmouth men.

On the women's side, Seemann was the first member of the Big Green to finish, posting a 1:01:45.5. Reeder and Thurston finished back-to-back, posting a 1:03:16.8 and a 1:03:18.2. Walton and Witter were separated by only one skier, finishing with a 1:04:21.3 and a 1:05:57.5.
Jacobus and Magill both competed in the U20 Men's 10K on Sunday, finishing in 21
st and 22
nd, only two tenths of a second apart.

In the U20 Women's 10K, Ingelfinger earned her first podium finish of the week and third overall for Big Green skiers, finishing the 10K in 31:12.5.

On Tuesday, three Dartmouth skiers competed in the sprint qualifier. Seemann for the women finished in 3:19.28 while Hagenbuch for the men posted a 2:47.31.

Both qualified for the open women's and men's sprint heats. In the third heat, Seemann posted a 3:30.85 for the women.

In his first race, Hagenbuch posted a 2:44.28 to qualify for the semifinal. He finished second in his semifinal, finishing in 2:48.46, sending him to the final. Hagenbuch posted a 2:53.42 in the finale.

The Big Green Nordic and Alpine ski teams open the 2025 season this weekend, travelling to Maine for the Bates Carnival. Nordics will race the 1.3K Freestyle on Friday followed by the 15K Freestyle on Saturday at Black Mountain. At Sunday River, the giant slalom will be raced Friday morning followed by the slalom on Saturday.
