ITHACA, N.Y. — Cornell opened the second half on a 10-2 run to take a 15-point lead, and despite numerous surges by the Dartmouth women's basketball team, the Big Green couldn't get any closer than 10 as the Big Red pulled away for a 56-43 victory on Saturday.

Zeynep Ozel led Dartmouth with eight points for the game as five Big Green players scored between six and eight points on the evening. Four Cornell players finished in double figures.

The first half was back and forth, as the teams were tied after one quarter, with the Big Red holding a 15-8 edge in the second.

FIRST QUARTER: 
- Olivia Austin got the scoring started, as Dartmouth led for much of the first quarter.
- A Doreen Ariik field goal gave the Big Green a 9-7 lead with 3:20 on the clock.
- However, Cornell held Dartmouth scoreless the rest of the stanza, as the teams were tied at nine after 10 minutes of play.
SECOND QUARTER:
- Cornell slowly began to pull away in the second.
- The Big Red lead reached five at 18-13 before an Ozel 3-pointer made the score 18-16 with just under two minutes on the clock.
- Cornell connected on two field goals over the final 50 seconds of the second quarter to give the Big Red a 24-17 halftime advantage.
THIRD QUARTER:
- An Alexandra Eldredge driving layup pulled Dartmouth within 28-19, but Cornell responded with the next six points as a Clarke  Jackson jumper gave the Big Red a 34-19 lead with 5:32 left in the third.
- The margin later reached 16 at 41-25, but Dartmouth ended the quarter on a 6-0 run, with field goals from Cate MacDonald and Minicozzi (her second 3-pointer of the game).
- The Big Green entered the fourth down just 10 at 41-31.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Cornell opened the fourth-quarter scoring, but the Big Green twice pulled back within 10 at 43-33 and 46-36.
- But the Big Red responded by reeling off eight straight points to erase any doubt, taking a 54-36 with 2:36 remaining — on the way to the 56-43 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Eight different Big Green players had a field goal, the first time they've had eight or more with a field goal since the Ivy League opener at Brown (nine games prior).
- Eldredge's five assists tied a Dartmouth career high and marked her most against a Division I opponent.
- Eldredge's five assists were also the most by a Big Green player on the road since Ozel dished five in the Ivy opener at Brown.
- Jackson led Cornell with a game-high 14 points.
- Dartmouth shot 30.2% from the floor (16-of-53), including 28.6% from 3-point range (6-of-21).
- Cornell finished at 53.5% (23-of-43) and 33.3% from behind the arc (2-of-6).
- The Big Red held a 30-27 edge in rebounds.
- A game after giving up 34 offensive rebounds, Dartmouth held Cornell to just seven.
