HANOVER, N.H.—Dartmouth men's lacrosse took on Merrimack on Tuesday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field for the first time in 2026. The Big Green notched their second win of the season with a 19-10 win over the Warriors.
Dartmouth opened the scoring just 58 seconds into the game as Thomas Power scored the first goal of the game with Alex Jessey notching the assist on the play. Stu Gates made it a 2-0 game with 10:30 left in the opening quarter.
Merrimack cut the Dartmouth in half as they found the back of the net with just under eight minutes left in the quarter.
Jessey regained the two-goal lead for the Big Green with just under five minutes left in first quarter.
The second quarter was dominated by the Big Green as they outscored Merrimack 6-2. The Big Green got goals from Max Voight, Power, Tyler Juhlin, and Zach Bye as Jessey scored a pair of goals.
Dartmouth took a 9-3 lead into the locker room while outshooting Merrimack 17-10 in shots on goal and 26-18 in shot attempts. The Big Green were 10-12 on clears in the first half.
The third quarter saw the Big Green outscore Merrimack 4-2 as Juhlin scored twice to open the quarter while Jessey and Will Cohen scored late to make it a 13-5 lead heading to the fourth quarter.
Both teams combined for 11 goals in the fourth quarter with Dartmouth outscoring Merrimack 6-5 to secure a 19-10 win. George Hawley opened the scoring just 29 seconds into the frame while Power made it a 10 goal game with 13:56 left in the frame.
After Merrimack got a goal back, Thomas Vandenberg, Bye, and John Stenberg scored back-to-back-to-back goals to make it an 18-6 lead. Cohen scored the final Dartmouth goal at the 4:17 mark of the fourth.
Merrimack scored three goals to close out the game.
Max Becker started in net for the Big Green and made 13 saves on 20 shots. Ryan Williamson played the final 4:17 and make two saves.
Jessey tallied a career high seven points with four goals and three assists, he also caused a turnover. Power recorded three goals and three assists while Gates and Juhlin each tallied four points.
Dartmouth outshot the Warriors 34-25 in shots on goal while also going 20-24 on clears.
The Big Green converted on four of five extra-man opportunities.
