HANOVER, N.H.—Dartmouth men's lacrosse notched its third straight win on Saturday with a 13-6 win over Siena.
It was the Saints that opened the scoring at the 13:09 mark of the opening quarter.
Less than five minutes later at the 8:33 mark, Stu Gates scored his first of four goals on the day to tie the game at one.
On the ensuing faceoff, Spencer Reagan won the faceoff and scored his first collegiate goal to make it a 2-1 game.
The Big Green then used goals from Tyler Juhlin, Nick Moore, and a second from Gates to take a 5-3 lead into the second quarter.
Siena scored the first two goals of the second quarter to tie the game at five at the 6:42 of the second quarter.
The Big Green scored the next six goals including four in the second quarter. Alex Jessey, and Gates each scored once while Zach Bye scored twice to take a 9-5 lead into halftime.
At halftime the Big Green held a 21-10 advantage in shots on goal and 27-20 in total shots. Dartmouth went 9-10 in clears in the first half while collecting 24 groundballs.
Gates opened the scoring in the third at the 12:40 mark to make it 10-5. Just six seconds later, Reagan got his second goal of the game off the next faceoff.
Siena scored the only other goal of the frame at the 10:00 minute mark to just it to a five goal game.
Juhlin and Thomas Power closed out scoring in the fourth quarter with a pair of goals about 45 seconds apart.
Max Becker started his fourth straight game and made eight saves on 14 shots on goal as he earned his third collegiate win.
Gates finished with four goals and an assist to lead the Big Green. Both Bye and Jessey had three points while three players tallied two points.
The Big Green outshot the Saints 28-14 in shots on goal and 45-39 in attempts.
Dartmouth caused 17 turnovers with Jack Mulholland leading the way with five caused turnovers while Gates had three caused turnovers.
The Big Green hit the road for four straight games starting on Saturday, Mar. 7 at Utah. Dartmouth then returns to the east coast to take on Fairfield, Harvard, and Virginia.
