PRINCETON, N.J.—Dartmouth men's golf finished ninth at the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club over the weekend. The Big Green finished +33 overall across the 54-hole tournament.
The team battled through illness during the tournament, but sill turned a solid performance.
Tyler Brand was the top finisher for the Big Green as the finished 14th at +3. He started the weekend by carding a +1 72 in the first round. He tallied four birdies in the round. In the second round he shot a 73 with a pair of birdies. Brand's best round came on Sunday as he shot -1. He opened the round with a birdie on one and closed it with an eagle on the par 4 18th.
Fin Szafnauer finished in 32nd at +9. In the first round he shot a +5 76 with one birdie. The second round saw him card a 75 while having birdies on the ninth, 12th, 14th, and 17th. Sunday was his best day, he finished even while shooting -1 on the back nine. He birdied the second and 15th while securing an eagle on the par 5 12th.
Luke Harper finished 35th for the Big Green as he finished +10. After shooting an 80 in the first round, he rebounded with a 66 in the second round with six birdies. The third round saw Harper finished with a +6 77 to close out the tournament.
Benjamin Wang finished 39th for the Big Green, he struggled in the first round by shooting a +7 78 but rebounded in the second round. The second round saw him shoot a -1 70 with four birdies. He tallied a pair of birdies in the third round as he shot a 76 to close the weekend.
Aaron Zhang placed 66th for the Big Green as he finished +24. He shot an 82 in the opening round and shaved off four strokes in the second round for a 78. He shot his lowest score of the tournament on Sunday as he finished +6.
Ian Davis played as an individual for the Big Green and finished in 54th at +16. He shot a 79 in the first round before shooting a 77 in the second round. He closed the weekend on a high note as he shot a +2 73 with five birdies.
The Big Green close the regular season on Saturday at the ROAR-EE Invitational hosted by Columbia at Wiltwych Golf Club in Kingston, N.Y.
