Earned a spot on the Academic All-Ivy League Team as well as the CSC Academic All-District Team … lowest ERA (4.50) on the team of any pitcher that threw more than two innings, and his .263 batting average against was the Big Green’s lowest … 4.03 ERA in conference play was the lowest among qualified pitchers on the squad … began the season in the bullpen, making his first five appearances as a reliever … struck out at least one batter in each of his 11 outings … second on the team with 8.31 strikeouts per nine innings … both outs recorded at Jacksonville were by the whiff … fanned two more in his one inning in the second game of the Princeton series … did not allow a run in any of his first four collegiate starts … first one was a three-inning outing, allowing only two hits and a walk with two strikeouts against Harvard … recorded two outs in a scheduled short start versus Boston College … stymied Yale for five frames on three hits and a pair of walks with three punchouts … fanned four over three innings at Brown without surrendering a run, scattering four hits and two free passes … provided a quality start in his final outing of the year, yielding three runs on four hits and two walks over six stanzas while striking out a career-high five Big Red but was stuck with the loss in a 6-2 defeat … final ERA as a starter was a minuscule 1.53.

Led the team in strikeouts per nine innings at 12.9 (minimum 5.0 IP) … only other Big Green pitchers that threw more than two innings in a season with a higher strikeout rate all pitched in the big leagues — Art Quirk ’59, Pete Broberg ’72 and Mike Remlinger ’88 … shrugged off early season struggles to compose a 3.97 ERA over his last nine appearances … between March 19 and April 20, recorded 19 of his 31 outs via the strikeout … fanned four in two scoreless frames in an 11-6 win over Hope … surrendered just one hit and one run over season-long 2.1 innings at Penn while whiffing four … struck out the side in perfect inning at Yale … earned first collegiate win with shutout inning of relief in 12-5 triumph at Albany … struck out the side again in the 11-4 victory over Siena … had another scoreless stanza in relief at Harvard.
