Senior (2019-20): Season cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic ... team co-captain ... raced in the Championship 8+ at the Head of the Charles (10/20) ... raced in the A boat (12.52.745) that defeated Princeton by five seconds at the Princeton Chase (10/27) ... won two-out-of-three races at the Las Vegas Invite in the 8+ boat (3/2).
Junior (2018-19): Raced in the V8 in every race ... Came in second at the Princeton Chase in the V8 (13:04.1) ... ... finished first over Holy Cross, Columbia and MIT (6:02.1) ... second place at Yale for the Olympic Axe (5:43.3) ... second place against BU for the Bill Cup (6:20.06) ... second place against Brown (6:14.9) ... second place against Syracuse (5:52.2) ... Third place in the Petite Final at the Eastern Sprints (6:30.540) ... fifth place in the IRA National Petite Final (5:46.747).
Sophomore (2017-18): Rowed in the first varsity all year… sat in the one seat of the Championship 8+ boat that finished 10th (13:56.202)… at the Princeton Chase helped his boat to second place (12:36.791)… rowed in the one seat of the first varsity boat that defeated Columbia, MIT and Holy Cross (6:13.35)… at the Eastern Sprints Regatta, he rowed in the one seat of the first varsity, helping his team finish second in the Petite Final (6:05.61)… rowed in the first varsity boat that finished third in the Petite Final at the IRA Regatta (6:33.801).
Freshman (2016-17): At the Eastern Sprints Regatta, he rowed in the two seat of the second varsity, and helped his boat to a sixth-place finish in the Petite Final (5:58.65) … sat in the two seat of the varsity 8C boat in the Princeton Chase, helped his team finish 16th (15:37.88).
Before Dartmouth: Attended Ridgewood High...lettered in Crew all four years of High School...also lettered in Soccer...served as Captain of his team junior and senior year...selected for the Junior National Team in 2015...competed in the 2015 CanAmEx Regatta...won the Hammer award and the team MVP as a Freshman.
Personal: Brendan Caltavuturo is the son of Louis Caltavuturo and Susan Carley...has one brother and one sister...plans to study Economics at Dartmouth...camps and hikes in his spare time...has canoed 50 miles through the adirondack lakes.
