Liam Abdalla joined the men's soccer staff as an assistant coach in February of 2026, focusing on goalkeepers.
Abdalla has spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at fellow Ivy League Penn, leading a dominant goaltender who earned both Ivy League and national recognition. He took home three all-Ivy recognitions, two All-Northeast recognitions, and two Philly Soccer Six player of the year honors. Additionally, the Quakers ranked in the top ten nationally in goals conceded per game (2023 and 2025) and in shutout percentage (2025).
In three years in Philadelphia, Abdalla won two Ivy League regular season championships and was part of a staff that took home three coaching staff of the year honors.
Additionally, Abdalla coached three MLS Superdraft picks, including one goalkeeper, one MLS homegrown contract signee and two additional professional contract signees.
Outside of working with goalkeepers at Penn, Abdalla assisted with recruiting, building team and goalkeeper specific training sessions, and met with goalkeepers to break down film.
Abdalla also has coaching experience at Ursinus College where he coached for just under a year after graduating from Alverina University in 2022 with a Bachelors Degree in Sports Management. He has also worked as the Head Coach of ECNL-RL, the director of goalkpeeing, and Assistant Coach of the WPSL from November 2021 through February 2026.
