Ross Macklin joined the Big Green as the newest men's soccer assistant coach in January of 2026.
Macklin has spent the the past four seasons as the Associate Head Coach at Carnegie Mellon. In addition to leading video analysis and opposition scouting and assisting with budget and game scheduling, Macklin served as the team's recruiting coordinator. He recruited the UAA Rookie of the Year in 2024 who also earned All-Region in 202 as well as a Freshman First Team All-UAA in 2025. He also helped the Tartans to the NCAA Tournament in 2022.
Prior to Carnegie Mellon, Macklin was working abroad in Singapore, serving as the Director of Recruiting & Operations, a head coach, and camp director for Tiro Sports. He served as the lead recruiter for players all over the world, coached teams in showcases in the U.S., and scouted players at tournaments around the world.
Macklin has additional coaching experience at the collegiate and professional level. He served as the assistant coach at Macalester College in Minnesota, the Head Coach for Singapore FC, and got his coaching start at his alma mater, Vassar. He first served as an assistant coach after graduating in 2012 before returning in 2014. He also served as the interim head coach from December 2017 to July 2018.
Macklin also played in the NPSL for two seasons before playing one season abroad in Singapore.
