Before Dartmouth: Miles was a four-time letter winner in cross country and track and field at Palos Verdes High School...He was captain of the cross country team his senior year...His junior year his team went to the CIF State Championship and got 2nd place then got 1st at the CIF Championship...His senior year in track he got 5th in the CIF State 1600m.

Personal: Miles is the son of Miles and Paula Irish...He has one brother and one sister.
