I chose Dartmouth for a ton of reasons: the location is awesome, the professors are great and the students are a lot of fun. I’m an engineering major, and the program at the Thayer School of Engineering allows me more flexibility than I’d get at any other school.
How long have you been sailing and what got you interested in sailing?
I’ve been sailing since I was very little on my family’s Cal 39. My Dad enjoys cruising around the east coast and has always brought me along. I started racing at our club on Long Island Sound when I was seven and I’ve loved it ever since.
Have you won any academic or sailing awards recently?
My freshman year I got a citation in ENGS 20 (Intro to Scientific Computing). This past spring I earned a citation for being an excellent Teaching Assistant in that same class. Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
My teammates know everything about me!
What are your future plans, if any?
I’ll be doing the B.E. year at Thayer. Beyond that I haven’t a clue.
