PHILADELPHIA - Junior Colleen Kelly scored in the 24th minute and the Dartmouth defense was able to protect the lead as the Big Green women's soccer team held on to defeat Penn, 1-0, on Saturday night at Rhodes Field. With the win, Dartmouth improves to 8-3-1 overall and 2-1 in the Ivy League while the loss snaps a 12-match home winning streak for the Quakers (7-4-2, 1-2-1 Ivy), including seven this season.
The Big Green outshot Penn, 10-6, and took seven corners kicks to the Quakers' six. Jessica Keeley had one save in the Penn goal; at the other end, sophomore Amanda Webb had two stops.
The Big Green will be in action again on Sunday, October 23, when it hosts Columbia. Game time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
