HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth men's hockey player
Mike Devine (Orchard Park, N.Y.) was given his second ECAC Hockey League honors of the season this week after being chosen Goalie of the Week. Devine and his defense were crucial, helping the Big Green to its first-ever road sweep of Colgate and Cornell. Currently Dartmouth is 4-2 on the season, 3-2 in the ECACHL.
Devine just missed two shutouts last weekend as he picked up two victories. Dartmouth defeated Colgate, 6-3 on Friday, Nov. 10 and then beat Cornell, 3-2, on Saturday, Nov. 11. Devine recorded a career-high 37 saves in the victory over Colgate. The next night against the Big Red he had 35 saves in his first-ever shutout bid that was cut short with :52 left in the game. He also stopped just the second penalty shot he's ever faced when he stuffed Cornell's Mitch Carefoot late in the second period.
Devine has a .915 save percentage and a 2.80 goals against average. He is currently ranked fourth in the ECACHL in save percentage and sixth in GAA. The award is the fourth for the junior.
Forward
Nick Johnson (Calgary, Alta.) was named to the ECACHL Honor Roll. The junior had three points on the weekend as he assisted on the third and fourth goals against Colgate and on the first strike against Cornell. Johnson is second in scoring with five points.
