HANOVER, N.H. – Freshman T.J. Galiardi (Calgary, Alta.) earned his first ECAC Hockey League honors after being named Rookie of the Week on Nov. 27. Galiardi helped the Big Green to ties with Princeton on Nov. 24 and Quinnipiac on Nov. 25 as Dartmouth earned two valuable league points to stay atop the ECACHL standings.
Galiardi continues to make his mark as a young player. He recorded his first collegiate assists along with his first multiple-point games last weekend. The rookie helped linemates David Jones (North Vancouver, B.C.) and Nick Johnson (Calgary, Alta.) score the Big Green's first goal in a 3-3 tie with Princeton on Friday and then he earned the first assist on the next goal.
The following night against Quinnipiac he earned the helper on Tanner Glass' (Craven, Sask.) goal which tied the game at two. Then he, Jones and Johnson connected again on the final goal with 7:00 minutes to play ensuring the 3-3 tie. Galiardi is second on the team with nine points and he's tied for the team lead with
five goals. He is second in the league in rookie scoring and is tied for third in overall scoring.
Dartmouth (5-3-2, 4-3-2 ECACHL) will now take a break for exams and the end of the winter term as the Big Green will not play again until Dec. 15 in a nationally televised contest with Harvard. That game will be seen on CSTV live from the Bright Hockey Center in Cambridge, Mass. at 8:00 p.m.
