Hanover, N.H. - Dartmouth College women's hockey coach
Mark Hudak announced that the Big Green will be welcoming four newcomers to this year's squad.
The incoming class of 2011 includes natives of Minnesota, Connecticut and Alberta. The newcomers feature three forwards and a defenseman.
Katie Horner
Freshman, Defense, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center High SchoolKatie Horner joins the Big Green after earning All-State and All-Metro in her senior year. She led her team to the state finals last season in her third-straight season as team captain. Horner was a three-time All-Conference selection and began playing varsity girls hockey in eighth grade, where she earned All-Conference Honorable Mention. She participated in the Girls Select 17/18 Festival in Lake Placid, N.Y. in 2005. Horner is the daughter of Lyle and Michele Horner.
Larissa Roche
Freshman, Forward, Thorhild, Alta./Thorhild Central School/St. Albert SlashLarissa Roche comes to Dartmouth after three years in the Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey League for the St. Albert Slash. She led the team in scoring her first season, was second in the following season and became the team's all-time leading scorer in her third year. Roche participated in both the Canadian Winter Games as a member of Team Alberta and the Alberta Winter Games as the team captain for Zone 5 Hockey. She played spring hockey for the Northern Alberta All-Stars, winning 104 games and 15 tournaments in six years. Roche is the daughter of Delbert and Petra Roche.
Alyssa Boehm
Freshman, Forward, Waterford, Conn./Loomis ChaffeeThe Big Green welcomes
Alyssa Boehm, a three-year captain for Loomis Chaffee. She was named All-Founders League New England and led Loomis Chaffee to the Founders League Championship in 2005. Boehm was a two-time invitee to the USA Player Development Camp in Rochester, N.Y. and Lake Placid, N.Y. Boehm is the daughter of Mark and Gail Boehm.
Amanda Trunzo
Freshman, Forward, Andover, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's SchoolBefore Dartmouth,
Amanda Trunzo was a finalist for Miss Minnesota Hockey, which is given to the top player in the state. She was a two-time member of the All-State, All-Conference and All-Metro Teams while at Benilde-St. Margaret's. Before joinng Benilde-St. Margaret's, Trunzo was a three-year captain at Andover High School and a two-time first team All-Conference selection. She amassed 300 points in her career between Andover and Benilde-St. Margaret's. Trunzo is the daughter of Rodney and Paula Trunzo.
