Women's Hockey Picked to Finish Third in ECAC Hockey

HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's hockey team received 95 points and was chosen to finish in the third spot by the ECAC Hockey coaches as part of the League's 2007 pre-season polls.

St. Lawrence garnered the top spot with 121 points, including 11 first place votes, while Harvard was chosen to finish second with 111 points, along with one first place vote.

Dartmouth also had two players earn a spot on the ECAC Women's Hockey Preseason All-League team. Junior netminder Carli Clemis (Taber, Alta.) and sophomore Sarah Parsons (Dover, Mass.) were chosen by the coaches following stellar seasons a year ago. Clemis was named the 2007 League Goaltender of the Year and earned a spot on the all-League team, while Parsons was the 2007 League Rookie of the Year after averaging 2.15 points per game last season.

The Big Green begins its 2007-08 campaign at home on October 26, as Dartmouth play host to Vermont at 7 p.m. at Thompson Arena.
