HANOVER, N.H. -- Four members of the Dartmouth women's soccer team have been named All-Ivy highlighted by the selection of junior midfielder
Myra Sack (Wynnewood, Pa.) to the first team.
Joining Sack as all-conference honorees, classmates
Ali Hubbard (Marshfield, Mass.) and
Kelsey Quick (Bernardsville, N.J.) along with senior
Laurel Peak (Redding, Conn.) were all named honorable mention All-Ivy.
Sack has been named All-Ivy in each of her three seasons at Dartmouth but is making her debut on the first team, previously being named honorable mention as a freshman and sophomore. Starting all 16 games this season, Sack's consistency made her a dominant force in midfield. She led the Big Green in scoring with 11 points with three goals and five assists. Of her five assists, three were on game-winners including the season finale against Cornell, and she scored the game-winning goal against Bryant.
A defensive midfielder, Hubbard has teamed up with Sack for three years now as a formidable duo. She was named honorable mention All-Ivy this season after taking home second team honors as a sophomore. Before missing the last two games of the season with injury, Hubbard started all 14 previous contests and helped the defense to five shutouts and a 1.00 goals against average. With Hubbard patrolling the midfield, Dartmouth's opponents averaged just 10.4 shots per game.
Quick evolved into an impressive offensive threat her junior year, moving into the forward position. She had her best scoring season to date with three goals and four assists, good for 10 points. A technically sound and athletic player, Quick's speed on the wing set up many of Dartmouth's offensive sets this fall. This is the first Ivy award of her career.
Peak, Dartmouth's starting goalkeeper, had the finest season of her career as a senior. She started 15 games and allowed just 15 goals for an impressive 0.94 goals against average, making 78 saves. She earned Ivy League and ECAC Player of the Week accolades on Oct. 20 after helping Dartmouth shut out Penn and Bryant. After recording nine clean sheets this year, Peak finished her Dartmouth career with nine shutouts, which ranks eighth all-time. Her 1.11 goals against average is the eighth-best in Darmouth history, just 0.01 off of seventh place.
Dartmouth completed the 2008 campaign with an 8-6-2 record, 2-4-1 Ivy. The Big Green's best results of the season included wins over Pac-10 foe Oregon State and defending Ivy Champions Penn and ties with eventual Ivy Champs Harvard and America East winners Boston University.
