BRADENTON, Fla. - Senior Damon Wright (Dallas, Texas) collected three hits, but it wasn't enough, as Dartmouth fell 8-0 to St. Louis University this afternoon in game one of its annual spring trip.

The Bilikens of St. Louis University (5-7) used a twelve hit attack in handing the Big Green their second loss of the season. And while three different players had at least two hits in the game for St. Louis University, they team was paced on the mound with the performance of junior Scott Turmail (8 IP, 3 hits, 7 SO), who upped his record to 3-1 on the season.

Second baseman Johnathon Santopadre (Vacaville, Calif.) opened the game with a crisp single to left field and was cut down two batters later trying to steal second base. That would be the biggest threat the Big Green would be to St. Louis the rest of the day.

St. Louis pushed across a single run, the difference in the game, in the first on a two out single off the bat of David Blackwell. Two unearned runs came in the second with yet another unearned run coming in the third. Lost in the effort was the pitching of senior Russell Young (5 IP, 7 hits, 4 R, 1 ER, 8 SO), who allowed seven hits and four runs, one of which was earned. His eight strikeouts matched that of his opening day effort at Navy, running his total to sixteen on the season in just twelve innings of work.

Dartmouth (2-2) returns to action for a pair of games against Central Connecticut State and Ohio State.
