Hanover, N.H. - Dartmouth freshman back
Aurelia Solomon (Washington, D.C.) has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for women's soccer.
It marks the second time this season that Solomon has picked up the Ivy's weekly honor.
Solomon, who has seen time in all nine games, continued her solid play off the bench in a 2-1 double-overtime win over Princeton. She gave the backline a boost midway though the second half and remained on the pitch through overtime.
With Solomon in the game, Dartmouth held Princeton to just four shots – and only one on goal – in the second half and two overtime periods combined. No Tiger managed more than two shots individually in the contest. For the game, the Big Green outshot the Tigers, 17-12, marking the first time this season that Princeton has been held to fewer shots than its opponent.
Senior
Ali Hubbard (Marshfield, Mass.) was recognized on the league honor roll after scoring the game-winning goal against the Tigers three minutes into the second overtime. A defensive midfielder, Hubbard helped lockdown the Tigers down the stretch while boosting the Big Green's furious late attack.
Dartmouth sits at 2-0 in the Ivy League in 5-4 overall, with a showdown at Yale on tap for Friday night at 7 p.m.
