Senior forward Brittney Smith got the job done on both ends of the court to lead the women's basketball team to its first two wins of the season. Overall, she averaged 20.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 2.5 assists in two victories. Smith shot a staggering 60 percent from the floor and only committed two turnovers while playing 34.5 minutes per game. Against Vermont, Smith cruised to 21 points and dished out three assists while terrorizing the Catamounts with a career-high seven steals. At Bryant, Smith battled through an extremely physical game to come out with her 20 points and 13 rebounds, also adding two assists and two steals. After struggling from the free throw line during regulation, Smith helped seal the win in extra time by going 5-of-6 at the stripe and grabbing three boards. Smith was also named the Ivy League Player of the Week.
Smith and the Big Green host Northeastern tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. at Leede Arena.
