The class of nine will bolster a veteran Dartmouth squad at every position on the field, bringing the roster total to 31 - the largest in program history. Dartmouth brings back 10 starters from last year's team that finished second in the Ivy League and ranked as high as seventh nationally. Though the returning players will make the lineup difficult to crack, Patton expects her freshmen to push her veterans for playing time this spring.
"This class top to bottom is going to make us better
everyday based on their athleticism alone," said Patton. "We have a lot of
veterans coming back and though the freshmen will challenge, they won't have
that pressure of being forced to be a starter. They'll be able to really come
along, learn and challenge for those spots but not feel the weight of the
world. They will learn a lot from our upperclassmen and come along at a
comfortable speed of learning that will only enhance our play."
Each player is profiled below with notes from Patton. Click their names for a
more detailed biography.
Lindsey Allard
Thayer Academy/Cohasset, Mass.
FR • M • 5-9
Played
varsity lacrosse and basketball for Thayer and led the lacrosse team to the
Independent School League Championship with a 13-1-1 record as a senior in 2010
... Had an impressive senior season, earning US Lacrosse All-America first team
accolades ... Played for the Eastern Lower New England Team One squad at the
National Tournament in 2009 ... Also named a first team All-Star and first team
All-ISL as a senior ... Played for the Revolution Lacrosse Club.
Patton on Allard: "Lindsey is a really versatile player and is reminiscent of
Kate Graw '00 as someone who could play midfield, line attack or line defense.
She's a strong, gritty and determined player and we hope she can vie for
playing time this year."
Liz Calby
Darien HS/Darien, Conn.
FR • A • 5-5
Versatile
athlete who played four years of varsity lacrosse, basketball and soccer at
Darien, serving as captain of all three teams as a senior ... Part of the
successful Darien lacrosse dynasty and joins a strong tradition of Darien
players at Dartmouth ... Won three Connecticut State Championships in 2007, 2008
and 2009 and took home the FCIAC Championship in 2007 and 2009 ... Named first
team All-FCIAC and first team Connecticut All-State in 2010 ... Played
club lacrosse for the Connecticut Chargers ... Mother, Karen (McKeel) '81,
played lacrosse and swam for Dartmouth and brother, Chris '12, is on the swim
team.
Patton on Calby: "As an attacker Liz will play behind the
cage which is a tough position in our attacking systems. We'll probably try to
give her this year to really learn our complicated systems under the tutelage
of Greta Meyer and Sarah Parks. She's a very tough and savvy player and we see
her really helping this program."
Anjalie Christie
New Canaan HS/New Canaan, Conn.
FR.
• A • 5-5
Lefty
attacker who was a four-year varsity starter for New Canaan, serving as team
captain her senior year ... Led New Canaan to the Connecticut Interscholastic
Athletic Conference championship as a senior (19-3 record) after appearing in the finals her junior year
... Team advanced to the Fairfield County conference finals twice ... Named a US
Lacrosse first team All-American her senior year after setting the school
record with 93 goals in a season and 112 total points ... Tabbed first team
all-state and first team all-conference as a senior ... ESPN All-RISE Honorable
Mention and MSG Varsity Connecticut Player of the Year as a senior in 2010 ...
Played club lacrosse for Connecticut Lacrosse Futures and took sixth place at
the 2008 Vail Shootout.
Patton on Christie: "Anjalie is a lefty attacker and we're hoping to play her
behind the cage because as a lefty she will be very hard to defend and will
keep the defense guessing. She's a scorer who is quick and powerful and has a
nose for the goal. It will take her some time to learn the systems but it's
nice to add that style of player."
Amy Drummond
Wilton HS/Wilton, Conn.
FR • M • 5-7
Played
four years of varsity lacrosse for Wilton, serving as team captain her senior
year and winning 62 games in high school ... Led Wilton to the Fairfield County
Interscholastic Athletic Conference lacrosse championship in both 2010 and 2008
... Team was Connecticut Division I finalists in 2007 and 2008 ... Named All-FCIAC three times, including first
team honors as a junior and senior ... Earned first team all-state honors as a

the Wilton Coaches' Award in 2008 as a sophomore and the Wilton Lax Association
Outstanding Athlete Scholarship in 2010 ... Played club for Newlax ... Seven
relatives have attended Dartmouth, but she is the first woman.
Patton
on Drummond: "Amy is coming in off an ACL injury but she's a player who is
great between the 30's - she's not flashy but is really the nuts and bolts out
there. She's smart, has a great stick and reminds me of Whitney Douthett '07.
We're really excited to have Amy back this winter and to add her to our
midfield."
Holly Foster
Noble & Greenough/Norfolk, Mass.
FR • D • 5-9
Played
varsity lacrosse as a junior and senior for Noble & Greenough ... Led Nobles to the Independent School League Championship in
2009 with a 16-1 record ... Recipient of Nobles John Paine Award for hard work
and consistency in athletics in 2008 ... Played for Revolution Lacrosse Club,
Team Black ... Member of the Eastern Lower New England Team 2 at the National
Tournament women's division in 2009.
Patton on Foster: "Holly is a strong lefty defender who we
plan to keep on the defensive end as a freshman but see her becoming a
midfielder eventually. We'll hold her on the one end for now to let her use her
size, strength and speed and just watch her blossom. She will push our
upperclassmen."
Kristen Giovanniello
North Shore HS/Old Brookville, N.Y.
FR • GK • 5-10
Played
three years of varsity lacrosse for North Shore, serving as team captain her
senior year ... Led her team to the county finals in both 2008 and 2009 ... Named
all-county and won the Coaches' Award as a senior ... Tabbed a scholar athlete in
both 2008 and 2010 ... Member of the National Honor Society ... Played club
lacrosse for Long Island Liberty, winning the Mid-Atlantic Tournament
Championship in 2008.
Patton on Giovanniello: "KG has a really nice presence in
goal. She's got great size and will be the first lefty goalie we've had in
about 10 years. She's got incredibly quick hands which is something you can't
teach. It will be great for our shooters to have a lefty and a righty in
practice and I'm excited to work with her."
Bailey Johnson

Red, winning the National Draw Championship in 2006 and 2007 ... Team also won
various tournaments including the Top of the Bay (four times), Charm City
(2006), Beach Lax (2006) and Mid-Atlantic regionals in 2007.
Patton on Johnson: "Bailey comes from a great program at the
Bryn Mawr School. She's a really smart, savvy line defender and she anticipates
incredibly well. She's steady and doesn't make a lot of mistakes and will be
reliable bringing the ball up the field. It will take time for her to learn the
schemes but she'll come along quickly."

the best all-around athlete in the senior class ... Played club for
Revolution Lacrosse ... Father, Ken, graduated from Dartmouth in 1982.
Patton on Lehman: "Kara is a tough, gritty player who is
always in the mix for every loose ball and she's got a great first step and can
explode with the ball. She is somebody that you notice on the field because
she's tough and gritty. We see her learning the defensive end and bringing her
along as a middie eventually."
Kyleigh Williams
Lexington HS/Lexington, Mass.

Four-year

Team honoree as a sophomore ... Lexington Lacrosse Rotary Award winner in 2010 ...
Played club for Revolution Lacrosse.
Patton on Williams: "Kyleigh is really strong between the
30's and is someone we will rely on at both ends of the field to play a role.
We plan to utilize her speed and she's great on the draw. We are excited to
watch her develop on both ends of the field."
