HANOVER, N.H. — The ECAC announced the finalists for the 2011 Women's Coach-of-the-Year Award on Monday, and Dartmouth's Mark Hudak was named one of the three finalists.
The three finalists for the award are Cornell's Doug Derraugh, Quinnipiac's Rick Seeley and Hudak. After a down 2009-10 season, Hudak brought the Dartmouth women's hockey team back into contention for a top spot in ECAC, and a chance for another NCAA tournament run. The Big Green have won seven more games this season than they did all of last year. On the way, Hudak picked up his 150th career coaching victory and his 100th ECAC Hockey win in only his eighth season as a head coach. For his career he is 159-70-20 overall and 109-50-14 in the conference.
In his eight seasons, Hudak has guided the Big Green to the NCAA tournament five times, including two trips to the Frozen Four. This season he has also been an assistant coach of the U.S. Women's National Team that finished second at the Four Nation's Cup in November, and will be competing in the World Championship in April.
