PRINCETON, N.J.- Dartmouth women's basketball player Tia Dawson (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) was named Ivy League co-Rookie of the Week for her performance against Harvard. The freshman earns the award for the first time in her career and is Dartmouth's first Rookie of the Week award winner since Faziah Steen (Detroit, Mich.) won the award during the 2009-10 season. Dawson shares the award with Sarah Halejian from Yale.
Dawson earned the award for her efforts against Harvard. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native posted her second double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in the Big Green's game with rival, Harvard on Saturday (Jan. 14).
On the season, Dawson is one of two Big Green players to start every game and has posted double figures in four games and has posted double figure rebounds in two contests.
