DARTMOUTH WOMEN'S SOCCER WEEKLY NOTES
Harvard owns the all-time series record over Dartmouth, 18-15-3. Last season , the Crimson completed the season with a 2-1 win over the Green in Cambridge.
Scouting Harvard –
The Crimson sit atop the Ivy League heading into the second to last weekend of the season. Harvard has won the league three of the past five seasons and has only lost a league game in one of those championship seasons. Margaret Purce leads the squad in goals (6) and points (14) and is second in the Ivies in goals and third in points. Cheta Emba is 5-1 this season with a 0.40 goals against average in 10 games.
Ivy Title Scenario -
Harvard needs just one win over its final two games to take the League title. Dartmouth can win the League if it defeats Harvard and the Crimson also falls to the Lions. Columbia and Princeton have an outside chance of forcing at least a three-way tie for first if they each win out, Harvard loses both of its games and Dartmouth beats the Crimson but falls to Cornell
Senior Salute -
Prior to the start of the contest, head coach Ron Rainey will honor the five graduating seniors in the Class of 2015 — Kate Castillo, Kendall Kraus, Tatiana Saunders, Laura Thurber and Tasha Wilkins.
Kate Castillo - Taken the field in 51 games with 42 starts. Castillo is a hard-working defender who has aided the back line all four seasons. As a rookie she was named Dartmouth's Larry Garrity Rookie of the Year.
Kendall Kraus - A senior co-captain, Kraus has started 21 games in her career, recording two goals and one assist for five points as a sophomore.
Tatiana Saunders - A stalwart in the cage all four seasons in Hanover. Saunders was named to the All-Ivy First Team and NSCAA Second-Team All-Region as a sophomore. In 54 career games, the Rye, New York native has 17 shutouts.
Laura Thurber - A senior co-captain, Thurber battled back from a year-long injury that kept her out of the 2013 season. In 30 career games, Thurber has been a key to Dartmouth's defensive unit.
Tasha Wilkins - A prototypical scorer, Wilkins has hit the back of the net 12 times in her career, while bouncing back from injuries throughout her career.
