Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Dana Giordano, Jr., Bernardsville, N.J., Women's Cross Country
Fighting through cold and wet conditions on the 6K course at Princeton's West Windsor Fields, Giordano ran to a second-place finish at the 2014 Ivy League Heptagonal Championship Saturday morning. The junior harrier finished the course in 20:28.1 to earn not only two team points but also First-Team All-Ivy League honors in the process. Her placement in the individual standings — along with excellent finishes by her teammates — helped the Dartmouth women claim its second straight Ivy League team title.
Eric Robinson, Sr., Foxboro, Mass., F, Ice Hockey
After missing the final 32 games of what should have been his final season with the Dartmouth men's hockey team, fifth-year senior Eric Robinson made quite the return to the lineup in the season opener at Harvard on Saturday night. Robinson assisted on the first goal of the game and added one of his own in the second period with a wrist shot right off the faceoff. For Robinson, the goal was the first since Mar. 10, 2013 when he scored in Game 3 of a first-round playoff series with the Crimson in Hanover.
