HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's hockey team will host the second and final contest of the 2015-16 preseason with a formal scrimmage Saturday night against Prince Edward Island.
The game with the Panthers at Thompson Arena is FREE to the public and is general admission seating with puck drop set for 7 p.m.
The Big Green have already played once this season, dropping last Saturday's exhibition against the US National Team Development Program (USNTDP), 5-4, thanks to a last-minute power-play goal by the Americans.
Freshman Alex Jasiek had a strong showing wearing the Dartmouth sweater for the first time, scoring once and assisting on another for the home team's lone two-point effort of the night.
Sophomore Corey Kalk and junior defenseman Josh Hartley each had first-period goals, while Nick Bligh and Jasiek pulled the home team even in the third before Clayton Keller netted the winner on the man-advantage with 21 seconds left.
Dartmouth split goaltending duties between senior James Kruger (8 saves) and Charles Grant (12 saves) with the former getting the start between the pipes.
PEI scrimmages Harvard on Friday night and will have eight games under its belt when they take to the ice at Thompson on Saturday. The contests with the Crimson and Big Green are the only two games against NCAA programs this season for the Panthers as they take on CIS teams the rest of the way.
Saturday's game will NOT be streamed on the Ivy League Digital Network, but will have live stats provided by DartmouthSports.com.
