CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Dartmouth field hockey team saw its two-game win streak snapped Saturday at Harvard, as it fell to the Crimson, 4-1.

Senior co-captain Eliza Becker's first-half goal was the lone Big Green (6-9, 2-4 Ivy League) tally on this day at Harvard Field Hockey Stadium. Harvard (8-7, 3-3 Ivy League) saw a pair of goals from Elizabeth Jacobson in the final stanza with Hannah Wellington and Marissa Balleza chipping in with the other two.

After Wellington's tally in the 17th minute gave the home team a 1-0 lead, it was Becker who responded with Dartmouth's goal in the 32nd minute. Taking a feed from Brooke Van Valkenburg at the top of the circle, Becker weaved through traffic along the goal line before sliding a shot into the far corner for her fourth marker of the season.

However, that would be the only time the Green and White managed to beat Crimson goalkeeper Issy Davies or backup Libby Manela, who combined for three saves in the game.

With the score tied at 1-1 after 35 minutes, Harvard came out quickly in the second half and regained the lead as Jacobson's first of the day came just 1:35 into the second frame. The Crimson would add one more against Dartmouth starter Paige Duffy, before netting the finally tally of the day against freshman backup keeper Hailey Valerio.

Duffy finished with six saves, while Valerio had one. Laura Donald helped out with a defensive save of her own.

In all, Harvard held distinct advantages in both shots (23-9) and penalty corners (8-4).

Dartmouth has little time to dwell on this loss as it heads to Vermont for a Sunday afternoon tilt in Burlington on Sunday. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
