Big Green Take Down George Washington and Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The eleventh-ranked Dartmouth men's squash team increased its winning streak to four matches, as the Big Green defeated George Washington 6-3 and Navy 7-2 in Annapolis, Maryland.

The victories improve Dartmouth to 4-0, while the Colonials fall to 5-2 and Midshipmen drop to 14-3.

The Green did not waste any time against George Washington, jumping out to an early 4-0 lead after sophomore Brian Giegerich, freshman Matthew Giegerich, junior Nick Harrington and senior James Fisch swept their opponents. Junior Glen Brickman clinched the match for Dartmouth after a dominant three game victory over Omar Mussehl. Senior Kyle Martino added another victory for his squad, defeating his opponent in four games.

Against Navy, the Big Green once again got off to a quick start. Fisch, and Matthew Giegerich won their matches in straight games, as Harrington came from behind twice to win 4-1. Martino recorded an important three game victory to bring Dartmouth within one match from the overall victory. Brian Giegrich shut the door on the Midshipmen sweeping his opponent, 3-0.

Freshman Sam Epley won his match in three games, while Brickman grinded out a tough come from behind, five-game victory.

The Big Green return to the court on Dec. 7 to take on national powerhouse, No. 1 Trinity in Hartford, Connecticut.
